Reiki
Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. It is a 2,500 year old healing technique rediscovered by Mikao Usui in the late nineteenth century. Reiki balances, energizes and harmonizes all the systems in the body, reducing pain and stress and promoting self-healing.
The client’s body draws the Universal Energy through the practitioner, but the client determines how much is received. The practitioner merely serves as a conduit for the energy to move through, and holds sacred space for the client, directing nothing and using none of their own energy.
Reiki can be used on people, plants, animals, and inanimate objects. It is done with hands on or near the body and can even be performed at great distances using only the client’s name, age and location. Reiki can be safely used to treat any kind of illness, but it is not a substitution for medical care.
